Janhvi Kapoor Shares Heartfelt Note On Completing “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl”

Janhvi Kapoor is playing Gunjan Saxena in the biographical film. It is based on the first woman Air Force pilot who entered the war zone of Kargil in 1999 along with fellow lieutenant Srividya Rajan.

Janhvi Kapoor joined the Hindi film industry with Dharma Productions’ Dhadak in 2018. Also starring newcomer Ishaan Khatter, the romantic film emerged as a clean hit at the box-office, with Janhvi Kapoor receiving great response for her debut performance. In 2019, the actress did not have any release, but 2020 will belong to her as she has three films slated to hit the marquee throughout the year.

Her first release in 2020 will be a biographical drama, titled Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. It will mark her second outing with Dharma Productions’ right after Dhadak. The film is inspired from the life of Gunjan Saxena, the first woman Air Force pilot who entered the war zone of Kargil in 1999 along with fellow lieutenant Srividya Rajan. Janhvi Kapoor, who had been shooting for the film in Lucknow for quite some time, has completed the shoot.

The actress went to Instagram and shared a couple of pictures from the set. She also shared an emotional letter, summing up her journey on the sets of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Calling it one of the most special films, Janhvi Kapoor wrote that she feels blessed to be part of this journey. The actress tagged director Sharan Sharma, who is making his directorial debut with the film, and called him her ‘best friend’. The actress summed up her experience of working on the film and the process as ‘adventurous, pure, and memorable.’

Directed by debutant filmmaker Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is scheduled for its theatrical bow on 13^th March, 2020. After this film, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in Roohi-Afza and Dostana 2.
