Indian rooted model and law graduate Priya Serrao has surpassed 26 other beauty pageants from all over Melbourne to earn herself the title of Miss Universe Australia 2019.

Indian rooted model and law graduate Priya Serrao has surpassed 26 other beauty pageants from all over Melbourne to earn herself the title of Miss Universe Australia 2019. She was born in India but until she was 11, her family moved to Australia and settled down in Melbourne. Prior to taking out the title, she worked for the Government of Victoria as a policy adviser and was bound to become a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria in late 2019.

Priya Serrao will be the representative of Australia to compete in Miss Universe at the end of this year.

Serrao stated that to crown in the contest took her by absolute surprise because it was the first time she took part in a beauty pageant competition. She added,

Top three national finalists included Serrao, along with Bella Kasimba who comes from Western Australia and Marijana Radmanovic from Victoria, placing second and third runner-ups respectively.
