Days after Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his project Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt, it is reported that he has approached Hrithik Roshan for the male lead in the movie.

Fans of Sanjay Leela Bhansali were left heartbroken when the director postponed his much-awaited film project Inshallah featuring Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan. Beyond everything, the flick was supposed to be the reunion of Sanjay and Salman after 20 years. Apart from that, Bhansali was pining after directing Alia Bhatt for the 1st time ever.

However, soon after the announcement of shelving Inshallah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali astonished his fans when confirming there will be another new film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. The esteemed project will have Alia Bhatt in the lead role and no film lover can stay calm hearing this. Ever since there was an announcement, rumors about the film’s remaining cast have sparked.

Now, if the reports of the media can be believed, the director is gearing up to cast Hrithik Roshan in the male protagonist role for Gangubai Kathiawadi. As reported by Filmfare, Bhansali has contacted the War actor to offer him the Haji Mastam role. The project will be rolling in December 2019.

Although Hrithik Roshan has not confirmed on this yet, it will be the first time he collaborates with Alia if the speculations turn out to be true.

Another mark the project will make is the reunion of Bhansali and Hrithik after nine years. The duo last shook hands for Guzaarish back in 2010. Currently, Hrithik is on cloud nine with his latest movie War’s success. The movie has risen as the year’s highest grosser.

In the meantime, he hasn’t made any announcement about the next film after War. Nevertheless, there have been allegations that he is in discussion for the remake of Satte Pe Satta. Moreover, the Super 30 star is also anticipated to start working on Krrish 4, the newest part of the famed superhero franchise.
