Varun vs. Ranveer In Numbers

Starting his career two years earlier than Varun, Ranveer has starred in 12 films which are equal to Varun’s. While Ranveer has five movies that surpassed Rs 100 core in the box office, our birthday boy has four.

Golilyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela,  Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Gully Boy and Simmba are the best achievements in Ranveer’s career. Meanwhile, Varun’s four highest grosser are ABCD 2, Dilwale, Judwaa 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Indeed, Ranveer’s biggest blockbuster Padmaavat has collected over Rs 300 crore in the domestic box office. Varun’s highest gross, however, only ended up with Rs 138 crore.

In term of entertainers that flop, Varun has outweighed Ranveer with Kalank is his only anomaly thorough his career. On the contrary, his competitor has Kill Dil, Lootera and Befike whose profits were under expectation.

Varun vs. Ranveer: Walking The Walk

Following the triumph of his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat in 2012, Ranveer Singh challenged himself with Lootera a few years later. Despite the fall in terms of commercial aspect, he has proved himself to be a potential superstar. With a sequence of blockbusters from Padmaavat and Simmba to Gully Boy, Ranveer has risen into the stardom of Bollywood and won hearts the audience.

Varun Dhawan career pathway is similar to Ranveer as it was not only until three years after his debut that the actor gave a breakout performance in Badlapur. No one could realize the young boy in Student Of The Year who has transformed into the mature and skillful man in the tragedy thriller. Once again, the talented actor amazed audience and critics with hypnotizing performance in Shoojit Sircar’s emotional drama, October. While both of them didn’t hit success in the box office, they were the solid foundation which cemented his position in the industry.

Talent Over Nepotism

They might say Ranveer has outdone Varun as the Kalank actor also has the advantage of being a star kid. However, David Dhawan’s son knows what he has to do to deserve what he possessed. He didn’t only take advantage of his father’s reputation but contribute to his career. Their first collaboration Main Tera Hero (2014) collected Rs 50 core at the box office. Three years later, the father-son duo released their second film which became Varun highest grosser with Rs 138 core.

Varun And Ranveer: Fascination With Govinda

Regarding his look-like-Govinda styles, the actor explained that sometimes he emulated the 90s’ star’s styles in dancing and acting subconsciously. It resulted from growing up watching the actor for years. In addition to that, his father’s filmography also had a huge impact on defining his styles. Along with Govinda, David Dhawan has delivered his most successful films like Coolie No. 1, Partner, Raja Babu, and many others. While the director is returning with the remake of Coolie No 1, it’s no surprise that Varun is the chosen one to take over Govinda’s role in the 2020 version.

Unlike Varun’s casual looks, Ranveer Singh seems to be more outstanding and sometimes quirky in terms of fashion. The actor doesn’t stick to any specific styles as he always takes us by surprise with breathtaking transformations. However, there's no denying that Govinda still has an undeniable impact on the superstar. Recently, the actor has given it a try on the flamboyant style which reminded fans of Govinda’s character in Raja Babu.
