Kajol is arguably one of the most successful actresses of her time. She was the queen of Bollywood extravaganza and unlike her contemporaries, she chose to prove her mettle in strictly commercial films and she did that really, really well. Throughout her 24-year-long career, she has done a variety of roles.

Holding a record of the maximum number of wins in the Filmfare Best Actress category, five to be precise, Kajol has won 6 Filmfare awards in her career so far and has also been awarded the title of Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor of the country.

This 1993 crime-thriller was for the first time that the iconic reel pair Shal Ruk Khan and Kajol shared screen space together in a film which later on went to become commercially successful on the box office.

Baazigar was inspired by the Hollywood movie A Kiss Before Dying. SRK featured in the negative role as Ajay Sharma and Vijay Malhotra, who was on a mission to avenge his parents’ death from a rich businessman Madan.

He targetted both of Madan’s daughters: Kajol’s Priya and Shilpa Shetty’s Seema. This film marked Shilpa's Bollywood debut.

Reportedly, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which has clocked 20 years of its release in Hindi cinema last year, will receive a special screening at the 10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the classics of Bollywood, told the evergreen love story of Raj and Simran. The actress once revealed that she has seen many people getting married after watching DDLJ.

Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)

It was the last film she did before giving birth to her daughter Nysa. For this epic family drama, SRK’s Rahul fell in love with Kajol’s Anjali.

My Name is Khan (2010)

SRK and Kajol reunited onscreen in this 2010 Karan Johar drama that took a look at life for Indians living in post-9/11 America.

My Name Is Khan made a storm at the box office records and became top-grossing movies of Bollywood when it released. In the film, Kajol essayed the role of hairdresser Mandira, who fell in love deeply Rizwan Khan (SRK), a man suffered from Asperger’s Syndromeith.

However, the reigning actress in Bollywood during the '90s decided to give the spotlights a miss for a few years after settling down with Ajay Devgn to raise two beautiful children, Nysa (14) and Yug (7). On the work front, Kajol was last seen in the film VIP2 opposite actor Dhanush.
