Shahid Kapoor has joined the 100 Crore club with Kabir Singh. But a Mumbai based doctor has objected to the portrayal of Kabir Singh's character in the movie.

In a recent update, the doctor has reported the matter to Mumbai police, state health ministry and Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The doctor has demanded that the screening of Kabir Singh to be stopped immediately.
The doctor has claimed that the film Kabir Singh portrays doctors in a bad light. The Information and Broadcasting ministry is reviewing the complaint filed by the doctor. In the movie, Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) is a medical surgeon who has bad anger management skills. He is seen wooing Preeti (Kiara Advani) also a medical student. The story revolves around the love affair of two medical students. The remake of superhit Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy has so far received highest opening in the box office.
Amidst controversies faced by the movie Kabir Singh which hailed the movie as misogynist have been left tongue-tied with the movie being receiving good reviews also from the critics. Responding to criticisms, Shahid Kapoor said,
Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also directed the original film, Kabir Singh also stars Soham Majumdar, Arjan Bajwa, Suresh Oberoi, Nikita Dutta and Kamini Kaushal in pivotal roles.
