Inspired from real-life incidents, “Article 15” hit the silver screen on 28th June and has been doing steady business ever since. It has just turned out to be the fifth consecutive hit for Ayushmann Khurrana.

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently riding high on the massive success of his latest film Article 15, which entered cinemas halls on 28th June 2019.

Directed by renowned director Anubhav Sinha, the social drama has been declared a clean hit at the box-office, becoming the fifth consecutive success for Ayushmann Khurrana after Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Andhadhun (2018) and Badhaai Ho (2018).

The success of Article 15 all across the country has cemented Khurrana’s position as one of the most successful actors from the current crop.

In Article 15, Ayushmann Khurrana played a cop who investigates the brutal rape and murder of two minor girls in a far-flung village of Uttar Pradesh.

The talented actor has received overwhelming response from various corners for portraying Ayan Ranjan with so much ease and conviction. However, Khurrana says it was not an easy character to play.

“I have immense respect for men and women in uniform. When I wore the uniform, I felt that it changed the aura around me and my body language. The film offers an outsider’s perspective on the caste divide in rural India. For the first time, I am not a victim of circumstances, but a master of it. I have played vulnerable, boyish characters before. Here, I am a man on a mission,” Ayushmann Khurrana tells an Indian daily.

“Playing a cop in Article 15 drained me emotionally,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana is in Lucknow shooting for his next Gulabo Sitabo with megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

The slice-of-life film reunites him with director Shoojit Sircar after their runaway hit Vicky Donor (2012). He also stars shooting for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan soon.
