Born on 17 May 1985 from a Bohra Muslim family, Nushrat is a city girl as she was grown up in the county’s biggest metropolis Mumbai. She completed her schooling at Lilavatibai Poddar High School, then attended Jai Hind College. During her school days, she was a very part of the drama clubs as she took part in several plays at her school.

It would raise a few eyebrows but her very first stage performance was at the tender age of 4 when she played the role of little Ms. Hawaii as part of her kindergarten's annual function.

When she was completing her graduation, the actress worked as a scout for a talent management company but thanks to her great effort during the training days, she was then offered a role in a series titled Kittie Party. However, her stint was not long. She had to quit the show after one year due to the inappropriate working hours and harsh environment.

The actress continued doing theater for a few years after that before making a turn into becoming an ad commercial model.

After 5 years of working in the film industry, in 2011, she got her first commercial success with the film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Her biggest successes where she played the female lead roles include Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl opposite award-winning actor Ayushmann Khurrana and most recent Chhalaang where she shared the screen space with Rajkumar Rao.

Her career has flown higher after the back-to-back successes of her films. She has become one of the most sought-after faces of various leading magazines. She has appeared on the covers of Travel+Leisure, FHM India, Femina Brides, and Exhibit.

Having the background as a model of commercial ads, walking the ramp has never been a difficult task for her. The actress turned heads at the fashion weeks like IFFD India Runway Week and Bombay Times Fashion Week.

The actress affirmed that it was not all about a normal dietary change but a lifestyle change which was a drastic one. She also revealed how tough she had to deal with the meat cravings. However, this decision tested her willpower and she is happy that she succeeded with her diety evolution.

One thing cannot deny that Nushrat Bharucha owns a body to die for. Like many other celebrities, in order to keep their body in shape, besides a healthy diet, they have to work out to maintain that fit. Fortunately, she is also a fitness freak who visits the gym on a regular basis.

The actress is an animal lover and she is extremely passionate about dogs and often takes to her Instagram handle to share pictures of their pets.
