Alia Bhatt, 26, has started her Bollywood acting career since 2012. Six years passed, and now the youngster has become one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood. Meanwhile, numerous Bollywood newbies have to take plenty of time to prove their fame and talent in the industry. From Dear Zindagi (2016), Udta Punjab (2016) to Raazi (2018) and her latest release, Gully Boy, they are blockbusters with coveted box-office receipts.

And presently, she is co-starring with a starry cast including the veteran actress Madhuri Dixit in Kalank. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance which even makes Alia "pinch" herself a handful of times. "We all play very different characters in the film, and share a dynamic relationship. I had to pinch myself a couple of times while filming with Madhuri ma'am, especially during the few scenes in which we had to dance. Sometimes I would zone out a little bit and stare at her because of her loveliness," Alia confided in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar India.

Kalank is set from India's independence struggle and Partition in the '40s. Initially, Yash Johar, Karash Johar's late father, was reportedly the movie's director. Its pre-production phase had started but subsequently postponed. Currently, Karan continues Kalank's unfinished work to fulfil his father's expectation and assigns Abhishek Varman to be its director.

Apart from Alia and Madhuri, Kalank stars Sonakshi SinhaVarun DhawanAditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The much-awaited all-star movie is all set to strike the cinema on April 9.
