The actor has previously worked with the renowned director on such successful films as Special 26 (2013), Baby (2015) and Naam Shabana (2017).
Neeraj Pandey also co-produced Akshay Kumar starrers Rustom (2016) and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017).
Now, we hear that the actor-director duo is set to join forces once again. According to fresh reports doing the rounds, Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey are planning a film which will revolve around the career highlights of the fifth and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Ajit Doval.
If sources close to the development are to be believed, the work on the script has already begun and research is underway.
However, the project will not go on the shooting floor immediately after locking the script. Neeraj Pandey will first finish his much-awaited film Chanakya with superstar Ajay Devgn before calling the shots for his next with Akshay Kumar.
a source in the know reveals to a popular tabloid.
This news puts an end to all those speculations which emerged around the release of Aiyaary in 2018. Buzz had it back then that Neeraj Pandey’s decision of pitting his espionage drama Aiyaary, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee and Rakul Preet Singh, against Akshay Kumar’s social-drama film PadMan (2018) severed the ties between the two.
Before that development, the duo had announced a film called Crack which could never see the light of day. We hope that they have indeed buried their hatchet.
