Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has become the target of internet trolling after the ‘apolitical’ interview of PM Narendra Modi. Especially, his disappearance from the polling booths made Twitterati wonder whether the reason behind this absence is from his alleged Canadian citizenship. When asked why Akshay was missing from the polling booths, the actor dodged the question from the reporter and said “Chaliye Chaliye.”
Back in 2017, Akshay once made the revelation with TimesNow during his film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s promotion. The star shared that he has been given by honorary citizenship by the Canadian Government. Hence he holds Canadian citizenship.
However, as per a report googled by Pinkvilla, the respectable list of people who were bestowed the honorary citizenship by the Canadian Gov doesn’t have the name of Akshay Kumar, and it seems only five world leaders.
The report further quoted a source from Vancouver Observer where they showed how a host of people residing in Canada for many years are still struggled to take the citizenship while the likes of Akshay was granted one “within weeks.”
The article also defines the term “Lost Canadians” and detailed in number. Check out:
