Millions heart was broken when Bollywood lost a legend - comedy king Kader Khan passed away at age of 81. He was hospitalized for a few days earlier after complaining of breathlessness.

The Bollywood legend suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. He moved to Canada few years ago and has been living with his son and daughter-in-law.

Kader Khan was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on October 22. He is an Afghan-born Indian-Canadian. Kader Khan is affectionately known for comedy role and has become an iconic comedy actor. He made his debut in a role of an actor in Yah Chopra’s Daag (1973). He has appeared in more than 300 films and won the Best Comedian Award by Filmfare 9 times.

Besides acting career, he is also a dialogue writer and has penned 12 films. His most iconic role was in Dulhe Raja (1998), Haseena Maan Jayegi (1999), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). The last time he appeared on the screen is in Ho Gaya Deemag Ka Dahi (2015), a Bollywood drama directed by Fauzia Arshi.

Before making his debut in Bollywood, Kader used to be a lecturer, teaching civil engineering at a college in Mumbai.

During the annual day function at his workplace, he took part in a play. After that, he got attention from comedian Agha, who later told Dilip Kumar about Kader Khan’s talent.

Not long after that, Dilip Kumar called him and convinced him to take up acting and become a full-time dialogue writer.

In 1972, Kader Khan, who used to write play for theatre officially become a screenwriter. The first film was penned down by Kader Khan was Jawani Diwani which starring Jaya Badhuri and Randhir Kapoor. He started his career as an actor in film Daag (1973).
