Abhishek Bachchan And Rani Mukerji To Reteam For “Bunty Aur Bably Again”

Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji have worked together on several notable films in the past. Once there used to be a time when the duo was one of the most-sought-after pairings in Bollywood. Irrespective of the fate of their films at the box-office, the audience always loved them whenever they appeared together on the silver screen.

Besides being co-stars in multiple movies, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji share a cordial relationship off the camera also and that camaraderie translated magically well in several films as well. As mentioned before, the duo has teamed up on multiple projects in the past, but if we talk about their most successful collaboration to date, then it has to be none other than Bunty Aur Babli (2005).

Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Shaad Ali, Bunty Aur Babli was one of the most successful films of 2005. Even after 14 years of its theatrical release, the movie still attracts a huge chunk of the audience on television premieres. It is also remembered for being the first film which brought together the father-son duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan on celluloid. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also featured in the iconic song “Kajra Re”.

According to latest reports, Yash Raj Films is gearing up to bankroll a sequel to Bunty Aur Babli. It is called Bunty Aur Babli Again. Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji will return to reprise their respective roles in the sequel, which is expected to mount the shooting floors in June.

Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji were last seen together in Laga Chunari Mein Daag. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the movie hit the marquee in 2007. If the duo is indeed doing Bunty Aur Babli Again, the project will mark their reunion after a massive gap of 12 years. More details on the venture are awaited.
