Surbhi Chandna shot to overnight fame after playing the female lead in Star Plus’ superhit show Ishqbaaaz, produced by 4 Lion Films. Today she is one of the most-sought-after actresses on Indian television, but her journey to the top has not been an easy one. She faced a series of rejections at the beginning of her career in showbiz.

Talking to a popular online publication, Surbhi Chandna reveals that she decided to give acting a try when she was doing her graduation. Her mother was very encouraging and she would take her for auditions. They also got a photoshoot done.

Surbhi Chandna goes on to add that when she was doing BMS, her mother took voluntary retirement. So, she used to take her auditions and would make her memorise her lines. She would criticise her so much, saying she could not act.

Recounting the horrible experience where Surbhi Chandna was thrown out of a shoot which left her disheartened, the actress says that if she has to say it in harsh words, she was thrown out of a shoot. She was cast for an advertisement wherein she was getting ready. There were 15 minutes for the shoot and she came to me and asked me if we could leave. She realised something must have happened.

Surbhi Chandna shares that she was told that she did not fit the bill. The actress says that it just felt bad that they should have known their requirements before. To call someone and then ask them to leave was rather harsh.

After that fiasco, Surbhi went on to play important roles in such shows as Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Qubool Hai before her breakout show Ishqbaaaz on Star Plus. The actress was last seen in Star Plus’ popular medical drama series Sanjivani.
