After announcing a digital film Guilty with rising Bollywood star Kiara Advani, Karan Johar was planning a spin-off of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s popular character Pooja from his blockbuster film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The filmmaker wanted to make the spin-off as web-show titled Poo Diaries, for one of the leading streamers of the country.

However, if fresh reports are to be believed, Karan Johar has put the project on the backburner for the time being.

“Kareena’s character has to be done the right way in the spin-off, and Karan is in no hurry to start it unless convinced by the final script. The script went through a few changes and Karan is yet to approve it. The show won’t start until that is done, so it will take some time,” said a source close to the development.

There is no update on whether or not Kareena Kapoor Khan will involve herself in the project. But in case if that happens, it will be an icing on the cake for the millions of fans of Bebo all around the world.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar is presently busy with pre-production work of his ambitious directorial venture Takht. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, the much-awaited period drama is expected to take off on February 2020. It will be Johar’s first attempt at helming a historical war saga.
