It has been only four months since the historical show premiered on Colors. Launched with much fanfare, the show failed to garner the kind of TRP the makers had probably expected, so now the channel has decided to axe it in July.

Jhansi Ki Rani, the much-talked-about historical show, which premiered on 11 February 2019 on Colors, is all set to bid adieu to audiences within five months of its launch.
Yes, it is indeed a shocking piece of news not only for the makers who had spent like a sailor on the production of the high-profile show but also for those viewers who are fond of watching historical sagas on television and had kind of warmed up to Jhansi Ki Rani.
Well, it seems that Colors is on an axing spree nowadays. In the past few weeks, it has terminated several shows and a few more are in the line to end their run. From long-running soap operas like Udaan and Ishq Mein Marjawan to new entrants like Tantra and Kesari Nandan, several shows have faced the axe recently.
We hear that Colors is in revamp mode and hence many shows have shut up their shops to make way for new content.
Jhansi Ki Rani is the latest victim of the channel’s revamp. Starring Anushka Sen in the lead role, the big-ticket show is produced by Contiloe Pictures. As mentioned above, it started airing in February and has been under the scanner for several weeks now.
The good news is that if numbers improved in the coming days, the channel may rethink of its decision and the show may get an extension. That seems highly unlikely though.
If numbers fail to improve in coming weeks, Colors will pull the plug on it on 24th July 2019.
