"It's Honor To Be A Part of Netflix's "Army Of The Dead", Says Huma Qureshi

The Army Of The Dead is soon going to hit the red screens of Netflix. It has already created much hype here in India even before its release just by revealing it's cast.

The suicide squad director, Zack Snyder is all set to helm the project and the probable cast is Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Theo Rossi, Ana De La Reguera and Huma Qureshi among others.

Earlier Huma Qureshi had a scheduled visit to Hollywood's Home, Los Angeles. And since then the talks have progressed with such a speed that the director had confirmed her participation in the movie.

Talking to an online news portal Huma Qureshi said, "Well, I was in Los Angeles and I was here for other work. I was asked to go for this audition. I said why not, and I went for it. This was on a Friday and they told me this is an amazing film. It has Zack Snyder and it’s something different.

This happened on Friday and I came back to India the next day. On Tuesday, they called and offered me the film. That is how it happened. I am excited about this film and but I cannot reveal much about it as it is too early to talk about it. We haven’t started shooting yet. I just want to shoot and give it my best shot."

Huma was praised for her last appearance in Deepa Mehta's Netflix Original fiction show Leila. Talking about her anticipation in working with Hollywood ace director, Huma added, "It is a great opportunity for me to explore such varied genres. The idea of working with Zack is amazing considering his films in the past.

This genre is vastly unexplored in India, and right now is the time for successful experimentation. As an actor, I am constantly trying to do something different, something that is never done before, and it is extremely gratifying. The team behind the film needs no introduction and it’s truly an honor for me to be part of Army of the Dead."

As far as the plot of the movie is concerned, the movie takes place after a Zombie outbreak in Las Vegas where a group of highly trained and equipped mercenaries tries to pull off the most unimaginable heist of their life in a quarantine zone.

The script is co-written by Zack alongside Joby Harold and Shay Hatten. Joby is known for his work in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword while Shay Hatten is known for his work in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. And the director also set to co-produce the show with the other producers.

As far as the release date is concerned, it will hit the streaming service somewhere in the mid-2020.
