Celina Jaitly Set To Stage Comeback With An OTT Film

Celina Jaitly, the former beauty pageant winner, is returning before cameras after a long gap of eight years. Her last film, Will You Marry Me, hit the marquee in 2012.

Celina Jaitly may have been away from the spotlight for many years now, but she still resides in the hearts of millions of fans that she made in her heyday. The actress was last seen on screen in the Aditya Dutt-directed romantic comedy Will You Marry Me (2012). It has been almost eight years since her fans have not seen her sizzle the silver screen.

If you too missed Celina Jaitly over all these years, we have an exciting piece of news for you! The scintillating actress is all set to stage her comeback to acting with an upcoming digital film, titled A Tribute To Rituparno Ghosh: Season's Greetings. Yes, you heard that absolutely right!

A Tribute To Rituparno Ghosh: Season's Greetings is a mother-daughter drama, which also features extremely talented actress Lillete Dubey in the lead role. Dubey plays the role of a mother, while Celina Jaitly will be seen as her daughter. Azhaar Khan, who makes his acting debut with the film, plays Jaitly's boyfriend, while transgender actor Shree Ghatak essays the character of the house help.

Shot entirely in Kolkata, the Celina Jaitly starrer has already premiered at some film festivals, including Cardiff International Film Festival and Rajasthan International Film Festival, early this year. Initially, the makers had planned premieres in Mumbai and Kolkata, but since the entire country is put under lockdown in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, they decided to stream the film online.

Helmed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee and produced by Aritra Das and Shailendra Kumar, A Tribute To Rituparno Ghosh: Season's Greetings is scheduled to stream on popular OTT platform ZEE5 on April 15.
