'The Walking Dead' returns to AMC this October.
Andrew Lincoln starred in 'The Walking Dead' and has left the film earlier this year. The surprising news is that he recently shares his plan to direct the film!
Just a couple of months ago, fans saw Andrew Lincoln taking his last scenes for the AMC zombie drama. And as 'The Walking Dead' keeps on its path, the actor now plans to come back and direct the future episodes. The series has been very popular during the last years, and Andrew sure has a big interest in the drama.
Andrew shared his news in his recent interview in Washington DC.
He confirmed that he has a concrete plan to appear once again in 'The Walking Dead' universe, this time as its director. In a different interview with Entertainment Weekly, he mentioned that he will return to the show's Georgia shooting site. Here, the ninth season is still in filming. Andrew believes that it is a great place to start learning the direction the drama is going.
Andrew plans to helm his work in an episode of the next season, which might be aired next year. And Andrew is not the first actor who actually comes back to direct this horror-thriller series. Actually, he would be the third actor to do so.
Colman Domingo who plays Strand in 'Fear the Walking Dead', later directs the 'Weak's episode. Same goes for Michael Cudlitz. Michael played Abraham on the series, and he is the director behind 'Stradivarius' episode of the current season. This episode 'Stradivarius' will air on November 18.
The interviews gave Andrew questions about the reason why he decides to come back and direct the film.
It must be very hard because he would come back on a very limited basis to the series that he has just left. Andrew answered that he just can not keep himself away from the thriller. He loves 'The Walking Dead' for the storyline continuation, and he is enchanted by the show itself.
'The Walking Dead' is sure enchanting.
The series was first introduced to the public in 2010, exclusively on AMC and Fox. The show has already been through 9 seasons and audience still can not get enough of it. Thankfully, the 2014 original comics that the series is based on, is very resourceful. It has given the crew amazing ideas, and they are confident that the series can go on for another seven years. Meanwhile, AMC claims that 'The Walking Dead' will keep on walking for the next decade!
