Law exams have never been easy for the test takers but currently, a Chicago student even took the difficulty and the toughness to a higher level by giving birth in the middle of her test.
That’s the story of Brianna Hill who is a fresh graduate from the Loyola University School of Law, Chicago. She already knew that she would be expecting during her exam that was set to take place in July. However, due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, her exam date was postponed.
In an interview with CNN, she revealed that she would be around in the 28th week of her pregnancy when she took the bar. However, the test was then pushed to October and she would be 38 weeks. Hill even joked that with this new exam date, she was about to do it on the hospital bed.
The mom further added that she felt her water started breaking after thirty minutes but she couldn’t go out and check. She had to finish the first 90-minute section in the four-part bar exam spreading over 2 days.
She shared,
“I stood up when I finished, I knew my water had broken.”
Even though it was a remote exam but it was still proctored and the examiner had to sit in front of his/her computer screen to make sure their students were not cheating during the test.
As soon as the student took the break, she immediately called her husband, mother, and midwife in extreme panic. She continued to take the test’s second part after her midwife ensured that she needed some time before hospitalizing.
Brianna Hill then admitted to the hospital at 5:30 pm and birthed her baby boy after 10 pm.
The young mom still completed her important on the next in the hospital.
