#KathuaRape Case: Capital Punishment Is Not Deterrent To Crime, Says Javed Akhtar

The veteran lyricist and scriptwriter believes that women will drive future generations.

The veteran lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar who is also known for raising his voice over topics of national importance spoke about Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua gang rape and murder case. The apex court on Monday convicted three persons for life imprisonment and three others were sentenced for five years of imprisonment.

Pointing out to the judicial process, Javed Akhtar believes that the accused must not be released early until their sentence is completed.

He said,

Javed Akhtar believes that the coming generation will only respect women when this generation abolishes the idea of men being supremacists.
