Suriya Teams Up With Vetrimaaran For A Revenge Drama?

Suriya was last seen in K. V. Anand’s action thriller “Kaappaan”. He is currently shooting for his upcoming film “Soorarai Pottru”.

Suriya was last seen in the K. V. Anand directorial Kaappaan (2019), which did well at the box-office. Right after the release of the film, the actor joined forces with well-known director Sudha Kongara for an action drama, titled Soorarai Pottru. Reports were doing the rounds recently that Suriya has teamed up with acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran for a new film.

As we all know that Vetrimaaran is one of the finest directors working in the Tamil industry. He has a number of successful films to his credit. The director last helmed Asuran (2019) starring Dhanush in the lead role. The movie was received really well by critics as well as the audience. Vetrimaaran is currently working on his next film, which has popular comedian Soori playing the lead role.

According to reports, Vetrimaaran is teaming up with Tamil superstar Suriya for his next directorial offering, which will mark the actor's 40th film. The latest we hear that Vetrimaaran’s next film with Suriya will be a revenge saga. Yes, you heard that right! As per some sources, the story of the upcoming film reportedly revolves around a youngster who defeats a bull that killed his dad long back in the traditional sport Jallikattu.

Kalaipuli S Thanu will bankroll the untitled film under the banner of V Creation. The project was officially announced a few months ago by the producer. Though nothing is official, some reports say that the movie is expected to be titled Vaadi Vaasal. Interestingly, the story of the film is reportedly based on the novel of the same name. If all goes well, the project will start rolling from late June 2020. Meanwhile, Suriya's Soorarai Pottru has now been renamed as Aruvaa. The film is slated to roll into theatres on Diwali 2020.
