Dulquer Salmaan starts a new chapter of his professional life by turning producer, and his maiden production venture is reportedly titled Ashokante Adhyarathri.

Popular South Indian actor Dulquer Salmaan, who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema, has added a new feather to his cap. The heartthrob, who recently impressed critics and audiences alike with his film Oru Yamandan Premakadha (2019), has turned producer.

The 33-year-old actor took to social media to announce the new development in his career. On his Facebook page, Salmaan wrote that his maiden production venture had begun the shoot. The actor also revealed that the name of the movie and the production house are still under wraps and he will announce both when the time is right.

Though Dulquer Salmaan did not reveal the title of his film in his Facebook post, some media outlets report that the project has been titled Ashokante Adhyarathri. The actor will just bankroll the movie and not star in it, say people in the know.

On the first day of the shoot, Dulquer’s wife Amaal Sufiya and actor Sunny Wayne were also in attendance on the sets. Sunny Wayne’s presence on occasion has led to speculations that he might play the male lead in the movie. However, an official announcement regarding his involvement with the project is still awaited.

Talking about Dulquer Salmaan’s acting projects, the superstar will next be seen in two Tamil films. Titled Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, the Desingh Periyasamy directorial will release first. It will be followed by a romantic thriller Vaan.

Besides Malayalam and Tamil cinema, Dulquer Salmaan is also trying to make inroads into Bollywood. He recently made his Hindi film debut with Akarsh Khurana’s road-trip film Karwaan (2018). The film also had Irrfan Khan in the lead role and was received well by critics.

Dulquer Salmaan will next be seen in yet another Bollywood film called The Zoya Factor. Co-starring fashionista Sonam Kapoor as the female lead, the Abhishek Sharma directorial is set to hit screens on 14th June 2019.
