Shruti Haasan Denies Starring Alongside Pawan Kalyan In “Vakeel Saab”

Shruti Haasan has clarified that she is not doing the Telugu remake of superhit Bollywood film Pink. She will next be seen in Telugu flick Krack.

Shruti Haasan recently featured in a short film called Devi (2020), which also had Kajol and Neha Dhupia in pivotal roles. Rumours were rife recently that the actress was next starring in a Telugu film, titled Vakeel Saab. Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan plays the male lead in the film.

However, Shruti Haasan has now clarified that she is not doing the aforementioned film with Pawan Kalyan. Rumours had it that the talented actress was roped in to play the character of Kalyan’s wife in the courtroom drama, which is an official remake of superhit Bollywood film Pink (2016), starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles. But the actress has put an end to all the rumours.

Talking to a publication, Shruti Haasan revealed that she is not part of Vakeel Saab. She said that she will next star in Krack alongside Ravi Teja. The movie will be directed by filmmaker Gopichand Malineni.

Pawan Kalyan, who is returning to face the camera after a long time, is quite excited about Vakeel Saab. The film will be will be directed by Venu Sriram, who is joining hands with him for the first time in his career. Sriram has also been signed on to call the shots for Allu Arjun’s next film Icon.

Vakeel Saab is being jointly produced by Boney Kapoor and Dil Raju. In addition to Pawan Kalyan, the film also features Nivetha Thomas and Anjali in important roles. The makers are yet to finalize the rest of the cast and crew.

Before Telugu, Pink has also been remade in Tamil as Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The movie, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role, went on to set the box-office on fire by grossing over ₹150 crore worldwide.
