Selvaraghavan Commences Work On His Next Film With Dhanush?

Selvaraghavan has, reportedly, signed Tamil superstar Dhanush to play the male lead in his forthcoming directorial offering which still remains untitled.

Selvaraghavan is one of the most sought-after filmmakers in Tamil cinema. The audience loves him for his unique style of filmmaking. He has several notable films on his resume to prove his mettle as a director. However, it is also worth noting that some of his films including Mannavan Vanthanadi and Nenjam Marappathillai have not seen the light of day till today.
Selvaraghavan last directed NGK (2019). Despite featuring superstar Suriya in the lead role, the movie could not meet the high expectations of the audience and incurred losses at the ticket window. However, the failure of his last film has not stopped the filmmaker from working on his next with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Buzz has it that Selvaraghavan has commenced work on his next directorial offering. He hinted the same on his Twitter page.
According to reports, Selvaraghavan has joined forces with superstar Dhanush for his next film. Though the makers have not confirmed anything, industry insiders reveal that the upcoming venture is expected to be a sequel to their blockbuster gangster film Pudhupettai (2006). In other speculations, it is being said that the film might be instead the sequel of the filmmaker’s most successful movie Aayirathil Oruvan (2010).
Selvaraghavan and Dhanush have previously worked together on Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002), Kadhal Kondein (2003), Pudhupettai (2006), and Mayakkam Enna (2011). All their films in the past have won great critical acclaimed and performed well at the box-office. It will be interesting to see on which new film the duo is working on.
Meanwhile, Dhanush has his plate full with several big-ticket films like Jagame Thanthiram, Karnan, D 42 with Ramkumar, D 43 with Karthick Naren, and his own directorial D 44 produced by Sun Pictures. He is also reuniting with Bollywood filmmaker Aanand L Rai for a romantic film titled Atrangi Re. The movie also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in important roles.
