S.S. Rajamouli has a number of successful fantasy costume dramas to his credit, which he has directed over the years. One of his super hit fantasy dramas Yamadonga, which hit the marquee in 2007 and turned out to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year, is set for a Tamil release.

Yes, you heard it absolutely right! The Telugu-language fantasy action comedy film helmed by S.S. Rajamouli is being dubbed in Tamil. It has been learnt that the dubbed version of the film will be hitting silver screens on 3rd January, 2020. Yamadonga stars Jr. NTR, Priyamani, Mamta Mohandas, Mohan Babu and Kushboo in important roles.

The original film was a huge money-spinner at the cash counter. Upon its release, Yamadonga opened to thunderous response and completed a run of 50-days across 405 centres. It emerged as one of the top Telugu movies of the 2007 and gave Jr. NTR yet another blockbuster after his previous hit Simhadri, also helmed by S.S. Rajamouli.

Before being dubbed in Tamil, Yamadonga has also been dubbed and released in Hindi as Lok Parlok in 2008. Interestingly, its crew was the same crew that later went on to collaborate with S.S. Rajamouli on his magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). Well-known music director MM Keeravani had composed the music, while the camera was cranked by KK Senthil Kumar. The story was written by prolific K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, the father of S.S. Rajamouli.

Meanwhile, S.S. Rajamouli is currently busy filming his forthcoming directorial, tentatively titled RRR. The period drama stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, while Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt will be seen in special appearances. To be made on an estimated budget of Rs. 350-400 crores, the much-awaited film is slated to enter theatres worldwide on 30th July, 2020.
