Prateik Babbar Starts Shooting For Megastar Rajinikanth's Much-Awaited Film “Darbar”

Last seen in romcom Mitron, Prateik Babbar has a crucial role to play in the upcoming film "Darbar". While the movie went on the shooting floor in April, Babbar has now started shooting for his portions in Tamil action thriller.

Prateik Babbar, who was most recently seen in Bollywood romcom Mitron (2018), has some high-profile projects in his pocket right now. The actor is set to play one of the lead antagonists in filmmaker AR Murugadoss’ forthcoming directorial venture, Darbar. The most exciting part about the film is that it stars megastar Rajinikanth in the lead role.

The latest we hear that Prateik Babbar has just started shooting for the film. Darbar, which is an action thriller, mounted the shooting floor in the month of April. Now, Babbar has also joined the cast to start shooting for his portions in the flick.

Darbar is produced by Lyca Productions. It is a trilingual film which stars superstar Rajinikanth in the role of a cop. It is after a long gap of 25 years that the megastar is playing a cop in a movie.

The big-ticket film is presently being shot in and around Mumbai. Prateik Babbar has joined the team in the city for the ongoing schedule. The beefy actor took to social media and shared a picture from the shooting spot. We can see in his picture the backdrop of an airport with a flight behind.

Talking about Prateik Babbar’s character in Darbar, reports suggest that he plays the son of Sunil Shetty. Shetty will be seen in the role of the lead antagonist in the film. Besides Rajinikanth, Prateik Babbar and Suniel Shetty, Darbar also stars Nayanthara who is playing the lead heroine.

Yogi Babu, Anandaraj, Harish Uttaman, and Bose Venkat will also be seen in important roles. Transgender actress Jeeva, who has previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi in Dharma Durai (2016), is also a part of the supporting cast.

Darbar is scheduled for release on January 9, 2020.
