Karan Johar To Remake Vijay Deverakonda Starrer “Dear Comrade” In Hindi

The success of “Kabir Singh”, which was an official remake of “Arjun Reddy”, seems to have paved the way for similar remakes in the Hindi film industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar has just acquired the rights of Telugu film “Dear Comrade” ahead of its release.

Karan Johar, one of the leading filmmakers in Hindi cinema, has acquired the remake rights of Telugu film Dear Comrade. Interestingly, the action drama is yet to hit the silver screen. Starring South sensation Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, Dear Comrade is scheduled to enter theatres on 26th July, 2019.
Karan Johar saw the yet-to-be-released film at a special screening on Tuesday and loved it so much that he immediately announced buying its rights for a Bollywood remake. Johar met Vijay Deverakonda and the team and made the announcement on his social media accounts.
Dear Comrade has already created a huge buzz among fans and cinephiles. The trailer of the film has received humongous response from the audience. As per trade pundits, the movie is poised for a thunderous opening upon its release. Dear Comrade is an intense story revolving around Rashmika and Vijay’s characters. After Arjun Reddy (2017), Deverakonda is set to play a young lad with anger management issues once again.
Dear Comrade will be Vijay Deverakonda’s second film to have a Hindi remake. His blockbuster film Arjun Reddy has already been remade as Kabir Singh (2019) in Bollywood. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, the movie has already smashed several records at the box-office and is now gearing up to cross ₹ 275 crore mark.
