Entering Bollywood for many has been a struggling one, actors and actresses are subjected to several process to bag a project. Newcomers and outsiders often face humiliation from industry insiders. Jacqueline Fernandez in an interview with an entertainment portal revealed that during her struggling days, she was asked to do a nose surgery and was also advised to change her name to Muskaan.
Several newcomers have shared the story of their struggling days. From molestation to casting couch, actors have complained about it several times. MeToo movement which failed to yield results in punishing offenders is only considered to have spread awareness about sexism prevailing in the film industry. Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who did her Bollywood debut in 2009 with film Aladin. She later bagged several projects and her upcoming film Attack is slated for a release in August. The action thriller film has been written-directed by Lakshya Raj Anand and produced by Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor and John Abraham. It features John Abraham and Rakul Preet Singh.
Talking about the incident Jacqueline Fernandez said that many people including her agency asked her to undergo name change. She was asked to do a nose job but she decided to be calm and cool about the entire incident. She also questioned herself if such things were actually needed to bag projects in Bollywood. Later things worked out for the actress and she bagged lot of projects. The agency who managed her portfolio found her name to be western and were facing hurdle to crack the industry.
In yet another incident, she was also asked to make her eyebrows darker and commented on her accent. She felt very offended about it. When Jacqueline attended an event after wearing a saree, she was questioned by her three actor friends as to why she wore a saree and trying hard to look like Indian. However, the actress is looking forward for a huge success of her upcoming film Attack.
