Farhan Akhtar Plans His Next Directorial Offering? All Deets Inside!

Farhan Akhtar has not directed any film in the past eight years. If latest reports are to be believed, the actor-filmmaker is not planning to go behind cameras anytime soon.

Farhan Akhtar kick-started his Bollywood career as a director in the year 2001. He made his directorial debut with Dil Chahta Hai, starring Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan in principal roles. The movie connected with the youth in a big way and has gained cult status over the years.

After the massive success of Dil Chahta Hai at the box-office, Farhan Akhtar went on to establish himself as a director with the two Don movies starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Both films did terrifically well at the cash counters.

Thereafter, Farhan Akhtar has stayed away from the direction. Don 2, which entered theatres in the year 2011, was his last directorial offering. And if reports are to be believed, Farhan has no plans of returning to direction anytime soon.

According to a source in the know, the direction phase is over for him.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is busy with his next film Toofan with filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The duo kick-started the shoot of their next in September end. The two are reuniting after their last box-office hit Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), a biographical sports drama based on the life of sprinter Milkha Singh.

Farhan has been training for months for the role to get into the skin of the character of a boxer. The film is currently being shot in Dongri and the localities of Dongri. The local residents of the area have welcomed the actor with wide arms open.

Apart from acting, Farhan is also busy with some films and web-shows.
