Aftab Shivdasani Makes Kannada Film Debut With "Kotigobba 3"

Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani is all set to make his debut in South Indian Film Industry with Kannada movie Kotigobba 3. Kotigobba 3 will have Kichcha Sudeep as the lead actor. Aftab is not the first actor to migrate down from Bollywood to South India.

In recent years we have seen many such migrations which include Bollywood A list actor Akshay Kumar playing a role of the antagonist in Rajinikanth's 2.0, Neil Nitin Mukesh in Kaththi, Suniel Shetty is also making his debut in Kannada film industry with his upcoming movie Pailwaan.

Suniel Shetty will also star in Mohanlal's Marakkar: Arabi Kadalinte Simham. Vivek Oberoi was critical with his negative roles in Mohanlal's action mass thriller Lucifer. Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in KGF: Chapter 2.

Talking about Aftab, the 41byear old actor who debuted in 1999 with the movie Mast was shot to limelight with his mind-blowing performances in Mr. India and Chaalbaaz. Currently, the actor is in Bangalore shooting for Kotigobba 3.

Talking about his debut in an interview Aftab shared his experience, "Kotigobba 3 is my film in the Kannada film industry. It is quite exciting because Sudeep is a dear friend of mine. We have known each other for 8 years now. We met during the celebrity T20 league where we played against each other. He used to tell me that I should work in the south. It never clicked until this offer came my way and I was told that he was in it. He said it was an amazing role and insisted that I take it up".

Talking about the challenges that Aftab was facing while acting in a South Indian film, the actor said, "The only barrier is the language. Either you learn the lines by heart, which I cannot, or you get prompted, which I don’t do. Hence, I have devised a whole new technique. It is not a big deal like how people make it seem, a film is a film at the end of the day. With the borders of the states reducing and becoming invisible, everything is going to be under the umbrella of Indian cinema".

Kotigobba 3 is going to be an action mass thriller and it is helmed by ShivaKarthik. The movie will be produced by Soorappa and Rockline Venkatesh under the banner of Rockline Productions. Along with Sudeep Kichcha, the film will also see Nawab Shah and Shraddha Das playing important roles in the film.
