Michelle Obama Makes An Unexpected Appearance At The 2019 Grammy Awards

Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night to talk about the influence of music.

Alicia Keys began the opening monologue at the 2019 Grammy Awards by inviting some of her friends involving the former First Lady Michelle Obama. Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Jada Pinkett Smith also took the stage to share about the influence of music over the last few years.

When the former First Lady Michelle Obama took the microphone, the audience erupted into applause.

Lady Gaga shared her thoughts on the power of music, she said,

Jennifer Lopez stated that music gave her “a reason to dance.” And Jada jumped in with,

Host Alicia Keys ended the historic moment by telling the crowd, “Tonight we celebrate the greatness in each other. All of us,” also adding, “Who runs the world?”

From the Grammys, Michelle Obama took to her Twitter to share her friendship with Alicia Keys. She wrote,
