As regards the controversial imagery, the 34-year-old artist released a number of sinister-looking promotional art for the song I Fell In Love With The Devil. Right after that, she was accused of “blasphemy” by some Christian fans who took to social media to raise their voices against the launched dark promotional imagery.

Last month, Avril Lavigne dropped the 4th single from the new album named Head Above Water. Screening through the ballad’s lyrics, it is quite easy to identify that they seem to be making a comparison between one toxic romance and the devil rather than show her love and respect for Santa. That’s why Christian fans are not pleased with it.

To be more particular, they went candid about the issue with these promo images posted by Lavigne on Saturday via Instagram. In an image, the Let Me Go singer is seen from behind while sitting at a black-colored piano and putting on a gown of red shade with a lengthy tulle train.

In another image, she is spotted sporting a dress of black color, teamed with leather gloves and hooded cape while holding one wooden crucifix in hands in a similar setting.

There is one Christian follower who posts a comment that read, “Are you Christian or you’re mocking of Jesus?”.

Another expressed, “You just need Jesus. God blessed you and saved you with another chance to choose. You now have this crap?”

She kept on writing that Avril Lavigne should get her soul right with Jesus as Jesus is the only and one who could save her, but she holds his cross, then blasphemes his respectful name. She added I pray for your salvation”.

In fact, Avril’s style has gradually developed during many years, it was not until the early 2000s that she became popular with such singles as I’m With You, Complicated, and Sk8er Boi.
