Indian films have come in multiple types, genres, and categories. Recently, Vada Chennai is among the least film that could entertain its fans and viewers so much.

Back to the year 2003, Vetrimaaran came across a content goldmine which exists a region known as North Chennai. This was also the time he was in search of his directorial first appearance, Polladhavan (2007). The story that he stumbled upon named Vada Chennai. A decade has gone by and this heroic gangster film story lied in an abundance of screenplays. There is one specifically evident thing that Vetrimaaran revealed in myriad interviews. It was the thing that he always took hesitation with a view to transforming that screenplay into the motion picture.

An explanation for this involved how he was anxious that he might not do fairness and righteousness to its intensity and scale. However, the fact is still unchangeable. In fact, no other Indian filmmaker could have captured the true essence of Vada Chennai so precisely.

Vada Chennai

Probably, that’s not the only story which outstands in this Vada Chennai. More than that, it depicts how fascinatingly Vetrimaaran has described the living style which belongs to a particular place. And, this lifestyle is too close. Nevertheless, it, up till now, is away from a progression of this contemporary civilization. Not only being a director, but Vetrimaaran is also a talented writer who easily keeps you stay within underbelly which shows the dark corners of the city. And, these hidden city’s corners are full of bloodthirsty criminals.

Vada Chennai Review: Highlights

Vada Chennai gives audiences a very first bloody scene. It emerges with a blood-infused nife footage which goes with terrifying fragments of human fleshes. This knife is directly thrown on a table of a bar. The scene continues with four men who get entirely immersed in the victim’s blood. They are sitting around that table while getting overjoyed to visualize the upcoming vivid days for themselves. Guna reveals with Senthil that those gangsters can be anything. However, they are unrealistic for sure. They are well aware that 25 years is the longest time period that they could control unchallenged. Or else, they have to get more challenge from a more skillful as well as sharp player.

Vada Chennai

The story of Vada Chennai starts in 1987. It begins with a murder which involves the death of Rajan. His lieutenants, including Pazhani, Senthil, Velu, and Guna committed this murder though they are the persons whom Rajan used to trust the most. Senthil tried his best to persuade Velu as well as Guna to be responsible for the Rajan’s murder. In order for them to take responsibilities, Senthil also promises to help them get away from jail as soon as possible. However, he doesn’t keep his promise. Instead, he is disloyal to other friends and leaves them alone without any help. Another character Anbu is a national board player who gets overwhelmed in a bloodstained gang war. He then becomes apparent to be an experienced rowdy.

Vada Chennai Review: Anbu’s Destiny

A person tells Anbu’s fortune that he definitely become the Vada Chennai’s top dog. Nonetheless, the destiny of Anbu seems to progressively move into this horrific criminal world. Anbu’s bright future does not go to his plan when the unexpected black hole of his neighborhood seems to impair as well as destroy it. And, Anbu is not the only person to suffer from this incident. Almost all of the kids in this area also have no opportunity to lead the better lives. It appears that Dhanush is born to take the role of Anbu in Vada Chennai. Besides his talent to make the character become more lively, Dhanush’s physical features also make him perfect for this role. To fulfill his role, he needs to shave the face in order to act like a teenager. Moreover, he is willing to allow a stubble with a view to acting like a mature man during his 20s. His appearance with the surprising thick beard gives audiences the impression that he finally comes to another life’s stage.

Vada Chennai

All in all, Vada Chennai must have left viewers in awe with different modifications from insecurity, rage, avenge, destiny to the unquenchable desire for bloodshed. With no doubt, Vada Chennai could satisfy every audience. And, probably, this is also one of the best gangster films that we could have seen.
