Raveena Tandon, who was most recently seen judging the popular celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye 9 on Star Plus, will next be seen in Kannada film KGF Chapter 2. As the title clearly suggests, the upcoming film is a sequel to the 2018 hit KGF Chapter 1. The movie was primarily shot in Kannada but Excel Entertainment released it in Hindi and made a lot of moolah at the cash counter.
According to reports, Raveena Tandon will be playing a politician whose look and ideology is inspired by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. However, the makers as well as the cast are tight-lipped about sharing any details on the project. “Portraying any real politician is a very big risk these days. More often than not, you have a whole lot of disapproving protesting masses who want to stop the film,” a source close to the team informs a publication.
Raveena Tandon is quietly studying Mrs Gandhi’s mannerisms and trying to imbibe them. “She won’t imitate Mrs Gandhi, as that would look very cheap and unconvincing on screen. She has seen the way Mrs Gandhi has been played in recent films. She would rather do it her own way,” another source informs.
This will not be the first time when Raveena Tandon plays a politician. She has played a politician before in the Madhur Bhandarkar directed Satta (2003), “but this time she will play it in an entirely different way. Her character will take on Sanjay Dutt. They will play friends-turned-enemies,” informs the source.
Besides Raveena Tandon, KGF Chapter 2 also stars Sanjay Dutt and Yash, one of the biggest actions in Kannada cinema. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the film has piqued the curiosity of the audience by putting together such a fantastic cast. It is expected to land in theatres in April next year.
