Manmarziyaan - The romantic drama of Anurag Kashyap
Manmarziyaan is the romantic drama of Anurag Kashyap. He's so a talent and creative director that direct such an impressive Bollywood film.
The romantic drama begins with the fiery love story of Vicky and Rumi. There's nothing to say if they're only a 'much-in-love, much-in-lust' pair. Everything starts to go out of its orbit when they're caught red-handed in Rumi's bedroom. 'Vyaah kara lo iska' (Marry me!) is what will come across your mind in such a happy situation. Then, Rumi wants Vicky meet her family and make the marriage proposal. Everything is not simple like that. Vicky's being cold to Rumi, he asks her when they discussed the marriage before. Finally, they decide to elope.
Rumi, nonetheless, starts to blame Vicky for his erratic and irresponsible behavior.
At that moment, Robbie, a third person, steps into their relationship. He is a perfect husband model that every woman dreams of. There're some elements of "You're the apple of my eye" in this drama, Robbie falls in love with Rumi at the first moment they met.
Being hurt by the love and irresponsible behavior of Vicky, Rumi decides to step into a marriage with Robbie for healing her broken heart. Vicky realizes his mistakes and wanna mend everything with Rumi. What if Rumi agree to re-tying a knot with Vicky? What would Vicky do if Rumi refuses him? Watch the rest of the film and find your own answer.
Manmarziyaan - Breaking the stereotypes
The audiences maybe get used to the tried-and-tested formula of love triangles in Bollywood. Therefore, Anurag Kashyap adds some selfish elements into Manmarziyaan and breaks a few stereotypes in order to refresh his plot. He put these elements into the great world of Rumi. She has to have her heart broken to open and welcome love. However, the narrative drags are a little bit long where they should be shorter and crispier.
To talk about the performances of casting, it's awesome! Taapsee Pannu (Rumi) steals your heart with her mystery and lovely. She sticks to her character very well throughout the film. Also, Vicky Kaushal (Vicky) has completed his character excellently. Last but not least, we spend many words to give Abhishek Bachchan (Robbie) compliment on his acting. He impressed audiences the most. This film also marks the comeback of Abhishek after two years of no casting.
Sylvester Fonseca's cinematography together with Amit Trivedi's brilliant music plays an important role in pushing the feeling of audiences. The combination of OST and the narrative is absolutely perfect.
If you find some words to describe Manmarziyaan, they must be "love is no reason". That's exactly what the plot, the director and the actors want to convey through this amazing romantic drama. I'll rate this film 3.5 stars.
