The Transformer story started when Bumblebee, an alien Autobot crash-landed in the US and disguised as an old Volkswagen Beetle. A young female gearhead purchases it and has to keep its identity confidential. The relationship between the young girl and the transformer becomes tough yet tender which is surprisingly thrilling.
The Chaos Turned Into Something More Delicate
There is an annoying fact that the most famous franchises for the past ten years belong to the Transformer and its vacuous installments. It was not until the sixth sequel when director Michael Bay was replaced by Travis Knight that the chaos turned into something more delicate.
This sequel is both relevant and independent from the original story. The opening dates back to the ’80s when Bumblebee, an alien Autobot crash-landed in the US. In the shape of a rusty Volkswagen Beetle, it is purchased by a young female gearhead (Hailee Steinfeld). She has to keep its identity confidential and soon became friends. They team up to prevent an intergalactic apocalypse. They soon form a strong bond with a tough-tender relationship which will leave viewers melted.
Emotions Bring The Film To A Next Level
There is a massive difference in Knight’s production from another installment, in which feeling is the key factor moving the story forward instead of those metal-on-metal things.
Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the role of a misunderstood savior, brings heart-tugging warmth to the character. The scene stealers of the films belong to Jorge Lendeborg Jr, Hailee’s smitten partner, and her adorable little brother Jason Drucker. The film also includes impressive voice cast like Angela Bassett and Justin Theroux as the mecha villains. In addition to that, a list of specific pop tunes from The Smiths, Tears for Fears and Bon Jovi spiced up to viewer's emotions.
Hopefully, Bumblebee will be a departure for the next entertaining and relatable sequels of Transformers in the future.
