Habits are hard to break. And some bad habits, though small, can make your weight-loss dream seem unrealizable.
You know that weight loss is not an easy goal. You must be quite hard on yourself for the fat to go away. But no matter how hard you try, your goal may be unreachable if you still keep some bad habits. Read on to see whether you have them and if you do, kick their asses for a smoother journey!
Skipping meals
No matter how logical it may sounds, the idea that the less you eat, the more weight you’ll lose is a BIG mistake. Skipping meals or not having regular meals is a bad habit. Firstly, if you don’t eat regularly, how can you have enough energy for your workout sessions?
Secondly, skipping a meal means that your body will crave more food later. That’s why during the next meal, you’ll likely eat much more. Now that’s the formula to gain kilos, not vice versa.
Not drinking enough water
Water is the basis of life. If you think something without any calories like that has nothing to do with weight, you’re wrong. On a day when you don’t consume enough liquid, you usually feel hungry and crave food.
That’s because your body doesn’t get the amount of water it needs, and it takes that as the lack of energy. So it asks you to fill it with food! Not to mention that you feel gloomy with the dehydration, and a gloomy person often eats more too.
Eating too fast
It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to receive the signal from your stomach that it’s already full. That means, if you eat too fast, you won’t know the moment when you’ve had enough. Chances are you’ll overfill your stomach, and your digestive system will have a hard time doing its work after that. All in all, eating fast tends to become overeating and makes you gain weight.
Sitting too much
Due to your job, you may sit for hours at work. Sitting for too long will make your body more likely to keep the fat. Furthermore, the inactivity also strips you of both the energy and spirit. That’s why many people who don’t move much find themselves exhausted after a workday.
The solution is trying to move around more to give your body the feeling of vitality. Then you’ll be able to exercise more when your workday ends.
