Botox

Chances are you may hear about Botox for a couple of time as a magic treatment for ageing skins. But how much do you know about botox and what are the appropriate ways to apply it. Read on to learn more.

Botox Was Widely Spread By Love Island

The influence that Love Island has possessed on our communal body confidence is undeniable whether you watched the show consistently or tried to stay away from it.

Devoting over half of the summer to keeping up with bikini-clad-20-somethings, entirely preened and plumped to within every inch of their daily lives, has played a significant role in normalizing non-surgical procedures. Moreover, cosmetics flagship stores from all over the country have given an account of the upward trend in the number of people at young ages looking for Botox, teeth whitening and Fillers.

Recently, in a survey, You Gov has exposed the fact that 10% of women watching Love Island had taken Botox or Breast enhancement into consideration after the show. Meanwhile, in Ireland, Aesthetics Clinics reveals that there is a 200% increase in booking lip-filler after the entrance of Megan Barton Hanson.

It Sells Like Hot Cake

And now, Love island sponsor Superdrug seems to be making a good profit on the development of non-surgical procedures, publishing the launch of in-store botox injections this week. It’s true, you are now able to come in for a line-freezing session and stock up on conditioner along with toothpaste at the same time.

If you are 25 years old and above, the new skin Renew Service will give you an offer Botox and Juvederm dermal fillers treatment conducted by well-trained nurses in a private consulting room. They launch the service at the flagship Superdrug store on the Strand from today and the lowest price will be at £99.

Reaching for the needles or not, it is up to you. We are not giving you any recommendations - but we do think it is necessary for you to be knowledgeable about non-surgical procedures before making your own choices.

In the interview we made with Dr David Jack, who is based on Harley Street in London, he helped us to break down the truth about Botox. If you have made up your mind to get involved in those line-freezing sessions, you should check it out before making moves….

Botox is a neurotoxin; it is just a brand name

The molecules approach the nerves endings with the intention to block the impulse from the nerves making the muscle contract. As soon as the movements of the muscles take place, they lead to the appearance of the lines by pulling on the skin. Forehead, around the eyes and the frown lines, is the most regular areas to inject botox. To some, in order to soften lines, they will direct it into to lower face as well.

Don’t mistake Botox for Filler

The filler is different from botox as it is not a toxin but actually a gel. Unlike botox, they usually inject fillers under your skin, not into your muscles. Of all the fillers, the most popular one is hyaluronic acid (its occurrence naturally goes on in the body). Its function is a short-term filler. If you want, they can also put fillers in places where skin gets loose as you age like cheek and lips. Fillers can address lines too, just in other ways.

Quality comes at a price

To someone with experience, they know that spoken word is the best way to ferret out a person to carry out botox Administration. Don’t believe in a cheap deal: if it is not managed by a newbie then it’s definitely undertaken by someone who doesn’t have skills! Quality always comes at a price in the case of Botox. Remember only have Botox administered into your body by qualified nurses, dentists or doctors because it is only available by prescription. Somebody who has been through surgical training would be the one that I gravitate towards. In Addition, dentists are actually knowledgeable about facial anatomy.

Do not abuse it

Too much Botox can make your face freeze! When Botox is overdone, it is likely that Muscle atrophy (where it wastes away) will happen as a result of a repeated Botox administration process to the point where you are not able to control your muscle. As the matter of fact, muscles which are not in use will just sustain atrophy - the levels of muscular support is not equivalent so you might get a small amount of lid droop. A little movement with a more progressive approach is much more appropriate.

Sleeping upright is unnecessary

There is a common belief that you should sleep upright on the first night after the injection. This is just so wrong. In fact, you can keep your normal day and night activities. I even work out afterwards! There is a chance of getting some mild headaches as the substance starts working but that’s it.

You will see the results after 7-10 days

Yes, it is definitely more productive and faster than a cream but it doesn’t work crazily. After 3-4 days, a softening and restriction of shifting will show up but to see the full effect, you will have to wait 7-10 days.

Botox is not a preventative

You want to inject Botox at the right time because it is a medicine. I disagree that initially, injecting preventative should take place at the right moment. If you want to remove all the deep lines and wrinkles as soon as you realize their existences, you can count on it. Free Line from dehydration? That’s not the case.

Once you have botox, your skin gets better

After injection, the skin will have an opportunity to relax and regenerate itself as a result of the restricted movement of the skin. However, you still have to maintain your skincare and cleansing routine.

Doesn't mean that it works on everyone

Eventually, Botox will stop working due to the fact that the body usually generates antibodies to it. There were only two or three patients of mine who didn’t experience this, but it can occur. Personally, I've never seen anyone with allergic reactions.

You need to keep returning

The treatment loses its effects. That’s why every three to six months on average, they come back to refill. You can leave it less or longer- it’s your choice and you can take advice from the person who treats you.
