Shruti Haasan Onboard To Play An Assassin In American TV Series “Treadstone”

Shruti Haasan is on cloud nine these days. The gorgeous actress, who was last seen in Hindi film Behen Hogi Teri (2017) opposite Rajkummar Rao, is coming up with some exciting projects in Hindi and Tamil languages. The latest we hear that she has now bagged a plum role in an American TV series called Treadstone.

Treadstone is an action drama based on the Bourne film series. Talking about the storyline of the series, it revolves around the origin and present-day functioning of a CIA Blackops program called Treadstone. The program is known to trains its recruits to become nearly superhuman assassins.

This is the first international television series for Shruti Haasan and she is really psyched up about it. The actress, who has just finished shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar’s Power, plays the character of a young girl called Nira Patel on the American show. Her character works as a waitress in Delhi but also serves as a cover for her double life as a trained assassin.

Spilling some beans on her character in the international series and how she bagged it, Shruti Haasan told media,

Besides Shruti Haasan, Treadstone also features Jeremy Irvine, Brian J. Smith, Omar Metwally and Tracy Ifeachor on its ensemble cast. The actress will fly off to Budapest in July to begin the shoot. Since she is playing an assassin in the series, Haasan will be undergoing extensive training sessions to play her part convincingly.
