Kim Kardashian has lately stolen many headlines as announcing that she is studying to become a future lawyer. She did start studying last summer, yet everything is kept secret until now.
Via a Vogue interview, the hot news then rapidly spread all over the internet. While reading it, some may wonder about how she can obtain that degree without finishing any college before.
Is there a loophole in California law?
Okay, maybe that's too much to call it a loophole because we are not majored in law to acknowledge anyway. According to Vogue, California is one among four states in which you are given a chance to sit a bar exam, or the test allowing you to become a lawyer, without any college degree or going to actual law academy. All you need to do is joining an apprenticeship with an experienced lawyer or a law firm. This method named "reading the law" is said to be more practical, aiming at helping people learn from real situations rather than just from books.
And of course, Kim is taking one guided by a San Francisco law firm. It will make her four years to finish, which means she is expected to sit in the exam in 2022.
Does that mean she has to arrive in San Francisco every week?
Fortunately, she needn't. That would be a tiring journey to travel back and forth. Kim now has two lawyer mentors to help her study in a law firm not far from her own house. Each lesson lasts for 4 hours, which is equal to 18 hours per week. What an impressive number!
What is the next step for Kim Kardashian?
This summer, she's going to sit a mock test called baby bar exam. Should she pass it, the state of California will recognize her that she obtains enough qualifications to continue a three-year law study.
What will happen if Kim fails?
There's no possibility that she will fail. Because she already shared in a recent interview, saying she's giving it all to get this degree. She could even achieve a perfect score of 100 in her very first test in law and also be able to grasp the confusing concepts in just a few seconds. So how can she fail once trying this hard?
We're highly looking forward to her performance as a lawyer in the future.
