Things get started when Damien Chazelle cooperated with the designer named Nathan Crowley, who had been working with Christopher Nolan for a long time. First Man’s plot is a story about launching the first human to the moon in NASA's Apollo 11. This Damien Chazelle’s movie is now showing in cinemas. The movie has the participation of many stars including Ryan Gosling in the role of Neil Amstrong and Claire Foy as Armstrong’s wife. In fact, various critics have made positive comments on the movie.

The director shared that when he first met Christopher Nolan, the post-production of the movie had already taken place. He addressed that the strong connection that he felt with Nolan was from Nathan Crowley. In the First Man, Nathan’s role is a production designer. He has cooperated with Christopher Nolan for a long time. Their cooperation has started since Insomnia to Dunkirk and the only exception is Inception.

He Admires Nolan's Art-works

According to Chazelle, he first met Chris when they were in the production stage of the movie. It was also the first time he had a conversation with Chris to ask and learn from his experiences. Damien Chazelle had face to face conservation with Chris after he got his movie shot. That was the reason why they had many behind-the-scenes as well as war stories to share with each other. However, he actually appreciated the cooperation with Nathan Crowley, not only because of Nolan but also his beautiful art-work.

Additionally,  Damien Chazelle knew that Nathan would use the same practical approach he applied within every Nolan's movie. His techniques focused mainly on motion control, miniatures, in-camera effects and also set down to the tiniest detail. These techniques brought the most realistic experience to viewers.

He created scenes with a real texture, grime and dirt into the movies. Damien considered Nathan as the most proficient to do and it was a huge honor for him to work with Nathan. He also opened up about spending a large amount of time learning tricks that Nathan used in Chris’s movies like Interstellar and Dunkirk.

A Unique Film-editing  Technique

Using special technologies such as time-travel, Nolan has carried out an amazing space exploration effect in the Interstellar. Nevertheless, Damien created First Man based on a real-life historical milestone when humanity conquered the surface of satellites. With Interstellar, it’s science-fiction but for First Man, it’s simply science.

Damien’s movie is on Rotten Tomatoes with a pretty high rating of 88%. Most of the critics agree that First Man has successfully recalled to one of the most remarkable moments in human history. Besides that, the movies also bring on a soaring dramatic, exciting journey to its audiences.
