Amber Heard, known for her roles in films like The Joneses, Aquaman, and others, has been opened up about being a bisexual, but at the Making Change On and Off the Screen panel at SXSW Saturday, she revealed how difficult for her to stay true to herself.
Amber Heard says it was hard to admit that she was in a relationship with a woman. She explained that her parents were unable to process that her sexuality could be viewed outside a “binary system” of positive or negative.
Amber also stated that she didn’t reveal her disappointment with her family's reaction to them and "didn't display any negativity", but over five years, their behaviour and attitude gradually changed.
Amber Heard made it official that she was a lesbian when she walked the red carpet with her partner Tasya van Ree at the GLAAD 25th anniversary bash in Hollywood.
Amber Heard and Tasya van Ree had dated for four years before they split in 2012. She was then in ups and downs relationship with high-profile personality Johny Depp for only 15 months; her last relationship was with businessman Elon Musk with whom she broke up last year.
