Vicky Kaushal Reteams With Megha Gulzar For Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Biopic

A couple of months ago, news surfaced that renowned filmmaker Meghna Gulzar is planning to make a biopic on Field Marshal Manekshaw. The latest we hear that Vicky Kaushal has been finalized to play the lead role in the biopic.

Vicky Kaushal is all set to join forces with maverick filmmaker Meghna Gulzar once again. The actor last worked with her on espionage thriller Raazi, which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2018.

The duo is now gearing up to reteam for a biopic based on the eventful life of  Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who breathed his last on this day 11 years ago at the age of 94. Producer Ronnie Screwvala will bankroll the untitled project which begins production in 2021.

Sharing some details on her new project, Meghna Gulzar tells a tabloid,

Meghna goes on to reveals that it was during the shooting of Raazi when she had shared some stories about Manekshaw with Vicky Kaushal.

Vicky Kaushal shares that his parents would always tell him stories about Sam Manekshaw’s bravery.

Meanwhile, Meghna is busy with the post-production of her upcoming directorial venture, Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone in the role of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. Vicky Kaushal, on the other hand, is busy with Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic.
