The audience will have opportunities to see the stunning and talented actress Deepika Padukone again after one year of her absence on the big screen.

Correctly, the actress will appear as the female lead in the female director Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film project entitled Chhapaak. The movie’s script is built from the real life of the Indian campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks named Laxmi Agarwal, a survivor from the acid attack.

In addition to Deepika as Laxmi Agarwal, Chhapaak features the actor Vikrant Massey in the lead role. The actor has once appeared as the supporting parts in several movies such as Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), Lipstick Under my Burkha (2016). Especially, his male protagonist in 2017 A Death In The Gunj is critically acclaimed.

A few days ago, Deepika did a little promotion for her movie via her Instagram page. Specifically, Deepika posted an image disclosing Chhapaak’s brief theme. “ A story of trauma and triumph and the unquashable human spirit,” wrote she.

It is her first leading role after portraying the character Padmavati in the movie 2018 Padmaavat released in early 2018. After Padmaavat, the actress hasn’t chosen a well-written and appropriate script yet. Besides, she desires to take a career break to prepare for her wedding.

Deepika ended her single life with a lavish wedding with the actor Ranveer Singh at Lake Come, one of the world’s most beautiful lakes in Italy last November.
