"Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" Box Office: Ajay Devgn's 100 Film Has Collected Rs 100 CRore

It's 100% 100! Ajay Devgn's 100th movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has made a century at the box office within only six days.

Ajay Devgn’s 100th film in his career, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, has made itself go with a bang in the revenue. The movie has become the first Bollywood movie in 2020 to earn Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office.

On Twitter, film critic Taran Adarsh shared the news as Tanhaji entered the club of Rs 100 crore flicks. Taking it to his handle, Taran wrote,

The period drama is officially Ajay Devgn’s fifth successive movie to surpass the mark of Rs 100 crore after De De Pyaar De, Total Dhamaal, Raid, and Golmaal Again. While Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior managed to strike at the badge faster than his nearest two movies, Golmaal Again still stays as Ajay’s fastest movie to achieve it. The 2017 film had garnered Rs 100 crore within four days and has also put its name in the club of Rs 200 crore.

On another hand, Tanhaji is Saif Ali Khan’s first Rs 100 crore after his movie Race 2 which was released in 2013. In Tanhaji, he acts as Udaybhan, the protagonist. Meanwhile, Kajol who bagged a Rs 100 crore movie Dilwale back in 2015, comes back to depict Ajay Devgn’s on-screen wife in the flick.

Previously, Taran had also shared a film’s collection each day on Twitter.

The drama was brought to about 3,880 screens within India in Marathi and Hindi version and to 660 screens overseas. Tanhaji went on floors on the same day with Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak.

Movie exhibitor Akshay Rathi also got candid on Tanhaji’s opening of Rs 15 crore while talking to Hindustan Times. He said its title totally gives away his hypothesis. In spite of his heroic sacrifices and contribution to what India’s map is right now, he is barely known outside of Maharashtra’s borders. In spite of that, the movie has attained terrific numbers across the country. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has absolutely exceeded his expectations.
