Taapsee Pannu & Anubhav Sinha Reteam For Socio-political Film “Thappad”

After the huge success of his latest film “Article 15”, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has started working on his next “Thappad”. He has roped in Taapsee Pannu for the lead role. The duo has previously worked together on critically acclaimed “Mulk” in 2018.

Taapsee Pannu, the actress with an incredible range, is proving her indomitable acting mettle with every new release of hers. Most recently seen in the bilingual film, Game Over (2019), the powerful actress boasts of some really interesting projects on her platter at the moment. Now, the news is coming in that she has signed yet another exciting movie.

Taapsee Pannu has joined hands with filmmaker Anubhav Sinha once again after working with him on the critically acclaimed film, Mulk, which hit the marquee in 2018.

Sharing the good news on her Instagram account along with a photo, Taapsee wrote,

Before Taapsee Pannu confirmed the development on Instagram, an Indian daily had quoted a source as saying,

According to fresh media reports, the film is titled Thappad and will be based on real-life incidents. If all goes well, the team will start rolling the camera towards the end of August. Thappad will be shot in Delhi. It is slated to roll into theatres on 8th March 2020, on Women’s Day.

Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu has just wrapped up her next, Saand Ki Aankh, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. She is also awaiting the release of her much-talked-about film, Mission Mangal. The multi-starrer, also featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi, releases on 15th August 2019, on Independence Day.
