“Stree 2” Announcement Excepted To Be Made Soon?

Stree 2 is highly awaited by fans who loved the first instalment of the franchise, Stree (2018), starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

Produced by Maddock Films and directed by debutant filmmaker Amar Kaushik, Stree turned out to be one of the highest-grossing films of 2018. Made on a shoestring budget, the horror-comedy racked up approximately ₹ 120 crores at the domestic box-office.

Right after the humongous success of the film, the makers announced its sequel Stree 2.

Last week, Stree clocked a year of its theatrical release. And keeping their promise of bringing a sequel to the much-loved film, writers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. have started working on Stree 2.

The writer duo has reportedly completed ideating for the sequel. A source close to the development reveals that the story is being developed and the script for the sequel should be ready soon.

Now the question arises: who will headline Stree 2? Will the makers retain Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao to play the lead couple in the sequel?

According to some industry sources, Shraddha Kapoor may return to reprise her role in Stree 2 but the same cannot be said of the other actors in the film. An official announcement is awaited.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is riding high on the success of her two back-to-back hits in the form of Saaho (2019) and Chhichhore (2019). Both movies are doing exceptionally well at the box-office, cementing Kapoor’s position as one of the most successful heroines in the Hindi film industry.
