The first half of 2019 B-town witnessed many ups and downs with several blockbusters winning the hearts of the audiences and also lots of highly anticipated films but soon turned flops. However, when it comes to Bollywood, it’s safe to say that 2019 is a remarkable year so far. Many films have performed well at the ticket window right on its opening day.

Bharat - ₹ 42.30 cr
After the back-to-back disappointments from the recent debacles, Bharat happens as a treat for the audiences. Collecting ₹ 42.30 cr the film broke the record of highest grosser on the opening day of 2019 in no time. Starring megastar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Bharat proved that the Khan era isn’t coming to an end like the words on the street.
Kalank - ₹ 21.60 cr
Even though considered as a fiasco, Kalank made a flying start at the box office with 21.60 cr on its opening day. Produced by Karan Johar, written and directed by Abhishek Varman, the film features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role.
Kesari - ₹ 21.06 cr
Scoring No. 3 in the list of highest day one grossers, Kesari also did wonders at the theater and collected 21.06 crore on the first day.
Gully Boy - ₹ 19.40 cr
The list cannot be complete without mentioning the name of Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy. Topping 4th but Gully Boy garnered a positive response from the audiences and the critics alike and soon turned out to be a blockbuster of the year.
Total Dhamaal - ₹ 16.50 cr
The final name is none other than comedy movie Total Dhamaal. The film is the sequel of Double Dhamaal (2011) and also the 3rd installment of Dhamaal film series.
