For the unversed, in 2017 Tubelight starring Salman Khan and Jab Harry Met Sejal starring Shah Rukh Khan failed at the box office. Earlier 2018, the ever dependable Aamir Khan returned to the big screen with the costliest Hindi film till date, Thugs of Hindostan and it turned out to be a big flop. And later Shah Rukh Khan's most ambitious films, Zero, underperformed at the box office.

Meanwhile, the actor has been busy with the promotions for his upcoming film, Bharat, which will also co-star Katrina Kaif. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat tracks Salman’s character’s journey along with the journey of India as a nation. The movie will be releasing on June 5, 2019.
